According to Assistant District Attorney John Somers, defense counsel for John Earl McGrew was granted a continuance for the Jan. 16  sentencing hearing due to a death in counsel's family. The sentencing hearing has been rescheduled for Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 11 of the Bakersfield Superior Court. On Nov. 17, McGrew plead guilty to one count of a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14-years-old, which according to California Penal Code 288(A) carries a penalty of lifetime registration as a convicted sex offender. jewels, although I have no problem publishing a picture of McGrew - or any other felon - if or when a legitimate photo becomes available, I must remind you that  I never promised to publish his photo.  Here is my response to your earlier post on this topic - which still reflects the News' policy on this matter: The...
