No, I was being quite serious.  At this juncture, I consider the US to be a stabilizing presence rather than an instigating one.  And I, accepting that my mind is restricted by insurmountable ignorance on matters of humankind and the future, feel that this is an accurate assessment of a likely outcome. But if you feel we've reached an impasse, then so be it.  It was a lovely debate :)
