I also forgot about swimming in the middle of a lake no matter how clear the water is if I can't see the bottom. I'm afraid of being sucked under the boat or something unknown from the deep coming up to munch on my legs. Just thinking about it gives me the shivers. And large groups of birds. That movie scared the crap out of me! My son was not quite two when Jaws came out. I was young and dumb (22), it didn't occur to me that it might not be a good idea for him to see this flick. Anyway, he seemed fine. Two weeks later we went camping at Lake San Antonio. I decided to go for a dip, grabbed up my son and headed for the water. He stiffened up in my arms and screamed, "NO! Shark in water mom! Shark in water!" Oh my god I felt so awful. He's now 34 and doesn't swim...
