Thanks, madkow, Aki is finally home for good today & looking pretty good for all she's been through. We could only bring her home for the day on Saturday, but I was able to get her to eat little tuna & she rested better at the hospital over the weekend ('cause I think she knew she'd be home soon.) The vet said he was quite surprised by her recovery & appearance, knowing all that she'd been through the last week. I got the feeling that everyone at the two hospitals felt like she had a slim chance of making it, but didn't want to let me know. I think even my hubby felt that way ( and I did too, but I just didn't want to go there.) I guess she surprised us all! Sparks, I wish we knew what caused these things. I think a restricted diet is a good thing, but even the vets say they don't know what sets these bloats off. And it's with all large breeds, so anyone reading this with a big dog please be aware of the signs. Olivia, this means you! ;-) We asked the vet about...
