That's fantastic Sharon, a dog park is truly needed here.  Yes, Susie rocks!!!   I met her last week and thanked her for all she does, not only for dogs, but for cats as well.   Tehachapi is good to their animal population for the most part and it's good to see programs like the Tehachapi Humane Society putting the effort into giving the animals that aren't so lucky that live here a chance for a better life.  I hear that PetCO doesn't sell dogs/cats and that they won't deal with breeders anymore.  People are beginning to understand that there is a problem and the fact that Kern County killed over 18,000 of the 24,000 plus dogs and cats that they acquired last year is a sign that it's not getting better here either.  The killing of animals gets worse every year..  well I suppose you already know that.   Sad huh? This being said ...if you take a dog or a cat to a shelter the chance of him/her making it out alive...
