I don't know about the rest of you but I vividly remember my parents telling me that if I got a spanking in school I would get one when I got home too.  Dad made a believer of me and fear of Dad kept me out of a LOT of trouble!  ;-))) Just kidding, but respect for my Dad and Mom and for other people was taught in our home.  And, I was taught to say please, thank you, yes Sir and yes Ma'am.  Kids in the rural midwest are still taught these values.  What has happened to our kids?  Seems like a lot of kids these days don't have any respect for anyone, including themselves.  Just listen to them speak at any store, or watch them push ahead of older people and never hold a door open. Not all kids are this way.  There are still a rare few that do have manners and aren't taught to look for an opportunity for a lawsuit against someone with deep pockets.  Thank goodness for that.
