Here are a few facts about blood transfusions (also "from a medical viewpoint"). I emphasize the word "facts" not to be disrespectful or sound haughty by any means, but solely because these are substantiated as verifiable numbers from trustworthy sources.     According to the American Red Cross, only1 blood transfusion in 205,000 transmits a hepatitis B infection, and 1 blood transfusion in 1,935,000 transmits hepatitis C. In most cases there are no symptoms.    Several steps are routinely taken to reduce the risk of hepatitis from blood transfusion.
