Jewels, I read the article, sounds like a lot of institutions back in that time... Most were strick, I still have nightmares of my 1st grade teacher who used to hit me with a dang ruler on my hands and that was in the late 60's    Good thing times have changed.  Let us know if you find out anymore about it.  Interesting post.    Oh, I wanted to tell you that I had lunch with Cesar Chavez, he was born and has family in San Luis AZ just a few miles down the road from where I live.   Nice man, he was kind of quite though.. trying to eat as I was rattling off as usual.  lol  I was trying to talk him into cutting the strike short so I could work and get a paycheck.  I picked fruit when I was a teenager.
