While I would agree to some of these points, what also must be considered is the lack of education, or rather knowledge, among the citizens. They must accept responsibility for their actions in allowing themselves to be fooled with the smoke and mirrors of the political process. How many people believe the hype their candidate will make a difference, they will be the one who will bring respectability to their office, they will be the one who will act on behalf of their constituents. Don't pay attention to that man behind the curtain!! I expect there are few Americans who can provide a sensible answer to the question of "how much research do you expend prior to pulling the handle or punching the hole for your political choice?" What, 30 minutes, a couple hours of debates, fact sheets provided by their political machines? More people lean towards the rantings of TV pundits and never bother to learn more. After all, ask yourself, "why would those people lie to me?" Or is there a...
