The Tehachapi Warrior track team took advantage of its first home meet of the year this past week, posting team first place results in varsity boys, varsity girls and frosh/soph boys action.“It was nice that we finally had a home track meet in Tehachapi,” said track head coach Bob Papac. “Overall, we’re pleased with how things turned out and we’re very pleased with the results.”In frosh/soph boys action, Dan Rakowski took first place honors in the long jump and the 400 meter dash, while Josh Snider won the 600-meter run and the 800-meter run. In hurdles, Wade Walace won the 110-meter competition while Louie Olofson took first place honors at 300 meters.Overall team scoring had Tehachapi winning the meet with 88 points, followed by Arvin with 56, Wasco with 49 and Bakersfield Christian with 10.In varsity girls action, Mel Koenig helped Tehachapi accumulate a vast wealth of team points with victories in the high jump, while also taking second in the...
