Report Violation

Are you sure you want to report the following content as a violation?
For the record, every parent in our community needs to know that all Kern County public schools will be open on Monday, May 1. I am making this statement because we received reports on April 26 of rumors circulating that schools will be closed on May 1. Nothing could be further from the truth. We expect students to attend school every day, all day. We take exception to anyone who urges students to participate in protests that rob them of crucial instructional time. It is our sincere hope that students, parents and organizers of a planned May 1 demonstration recognize that education should be the number one priority for the students of Kern County. We ask parents to join us in making certain that students that should be in school are in school. Time lost in the classroom is learning lost that never can be recovered.
