To a group of screaming high school students and supporters large enough to fill up one quarter of the Atlanta Falcon’s Georgia Dome football stadium, add 344 robots of every imaginable size and color. Devise a challenging game for them all to play. Add a large dose of enthusiasm. Mix thoroughly for three days. The result is a fantastic time and an educational experience that can’t be beat. This is what Tehachapi High School Robotics Team 585 experienced the last weekend in April.After six grueling and challenging weeks of brainstorming, design, construction and testing, Team 585 boxed up their robot and sent it first to a regional competition in Las Vegas Nevada and then to the national championships in Atlanta, Ga.The Las Vegas Regional was held at the Thomas and Mack Arena on the campus of University of Nevada Las Vegas.
