New officers for Omicron Iota chapter of Beta Sigma Phi were installed for the 2006-2007 chapter year on May 16. Outgoing president, Olene Shannon, conducted the ceremony. New officers are Fran Hughey as president; Ivy Lambert as vice president; Pauline Molidor as secretary; and Arlene Weed as treasurer. They all assumed their new duties after installation.A noon luncheon in Carolyn Thurman’s new home preceded the meeting.Arlene Weed presented a program on Victorian dolls. She showed two dolls from her collection and noted characteristics of the era: long hair done in curls; dresses of rich fabrics such as velvet; lots of lace and ruffles; and high-topped shoes. Weed noted that France, Germany and Switzerland were longtime leaders in doll making.
