Herbert C. Jackson, 74, died peacefully on June 25 at the Tehachapi Hospital. Herb was an aeronautical engineer for McDonald Douglass for over 32 years. He was a private pilot and loved to fly. Herb was an expert skier and enjoyed his condo at Brain Head, Utah. Herb was the proud owner of a 1928 Chevy Roadster that he fully restored and was a life-long member of the Visalia Vapor Trailers and of the Antique Auto Club of America.Herb is survived by his loving wife, Prudence Jackson; his stepchildren, Robert Christie of Denver, Colo.; Dr. Patricia Christie and her husband, Guy Campbell, of Escondido; Jeffery Christie of Bakersfield; granddaughter, Samantha Campbell of Escondido; and devoted sister, Betty Hook of Visalia.A memorial service will be held on July 22 at 2 p.m. at Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel, located at 321 W. F St. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the American Heart Association.
