Vigil Service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 15 and Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at St. Malachy Catholic Church for life long Tehachapi resident Joseph Anthony Bravo Sr., 85, who passed away on Aug. 12. Joseph was born in Monolith on Feb. 17, 1921, to Severo and Josepha Valdivia Bravo. He remained in the Tehachapi area all of his life. Mr. Bravo was a member of the United States Army, serving his country in World War II in the European Theater. He was a Private First Class in the 354th Infantry Regiment and his military occupational specialty was as a heavy machine gunner. He served at Normandy, France, as well as other campaign areas and was decorated with the American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Bravo was a true family man, a very kind and loving individual and he was admired by his family. He loved to be around the house doing carpentry and...
