This year’s Virtual Enterprise (VE) class at Tehachapi High School offers students more than just credit for an economics core class. It provides students with the opportunity to become high-level executives who create and manage a “virtual business” throughout the school year.  Acting as the class’ “business consultant,” THS business and economics teacher Chris Hood takes traditional academic instruction to a higher level by placing his students right into the center of the competitive business world. Students utilize current business software, communications, and the internet for their business transactions. In keeping with the old adage that “time is money” Hood’s 24 VE students have wasted neither in collectively choosing their company’s name and services.
