Veronica and Brandy Watts of Tehachapi regret to announce the final boarding call of James Albert Evens. Beloved husband, father and railroad man. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Evans; children, Brandy Watts and spouse, David, Walter Evans and spouse, Dianna, and Oraray Evans; sisters, Helen Evans and Mary Kay Dudas; brothers, John Evens, Bobby Evans, Billy Evans, Ronnie Evans, Sammy Evans and Jack Evans; grandchildren, Zachary, Walter, Elena, Johnnie, Daniel and Kaitlyn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruby Evans; brothers Donald “Bud” and Thomas Evans and sister, Dorothy Cline. Visitation will be held at Basham Funeral Care, 3312 Niles St., Bakersfield, on Monday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Tehachapi Public Cemetery at 2 p.m.
