Facing the best swimmers in the Central Valley, the Warrior contingent did not disappoint in the CIF Division I swimming championships, with the Warriors’ Michael Halaska taking the Division I individual title in the 100 breaststroke. The boys team finished in ninth place overall and the Lady Warriors posted strong results in the preliminary rounds to end the season for both teams. Clovis West won the team competition in both the boys and girls divisions, while Tehachapi took ninth place by beating out many Division I prominent programs such as Clovis East (10th place), Madera (11th place), Centennial (16th place), Redwood (23rd place) and Bakersfield High (26th place). “Our boys just did great, ninth out of 62 schools is pretty good,” said head coach Herman Rijfkogel. “The girls did not place, but overall they did great as well.
