Elementary orientation Registration for grades K-5 is on-going, at Tehachapi Unified School District’s elementary schools, through Aug. 21. Parents are requested to come to the school offices as soon as possible to register their children. To register a student, parents should bring a birth certificate, immunization record and social security number. Incoming kindergarten students need to be 5 years old by December 2, 2007 and are also required to have proof of health and dental examinations. This is a new requirement this year. The law specifies that a dental health assessment must be completed by May 31 of the kindergarten year. There are also waiver forms available if a family does not wish to have a dental assessment.
