Almost everyone loves decorating a Christmas tree, but aren't you glad your tree doesn't require a crane and a cherry picker to get the job done? According to Carrie Champlin, the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District, together with R.S.T. Crane, get the job done in above-the-ground fashion each year for the Veterans' Building on F Street — at no charge.  R.S.T. Crane, owned by local residents Rick and Sonya Torres, donates not only the use of the crane and other equipment, but also covers the salary for the crane operator, to accomplish this rather tall decorating effort. See pictures of the annual tree lighting ceremony in the next edition of the Tehachapi News. Helping with the Christmas tree is only one of several ways R.S.T. Crane and the Torres have contributed to the Tehachapi community over the past four years.
