With the holiday spirit in her heart, Ruth Prewitt donated $1,000 to Help and Hope of Tehachapi, a non-profit organization that offers assistance to families in need in the Tehachapi area. “The money stays locally and I always like to know where the money is being used,” said Prewitt. Prewitt makes a donation to a different charitable cause each year. As a resident for over 30 years, Prewitt felt very strongly that her hard earned money be donated to an organization that concentrates on offering assistance locally. The $1,000 was exactly what Prewitt could afford to share this year. She plans on her donation every year, saving throughout the year. “It pays to give back to the community. I’ve always felt it was important to give,” said Prewitt.
