Visitation for Matt Johnson was held at Basham Funeral Care on Jan. 9, 2008. Funeral services were held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on January 10, 2008. Interment followed at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. Matt was born in El Paso, Texas on June 28, 1982. He fought Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy courageously and valiantly to the very end. He showed us how to care for others and how to face difficulty head on. He fought to make life better for others with all his heart. He was an MDA ambassador for Kern County. He was also involved in student government at CSUB. Matt loved everyone around him, especially his family. He has gone ahead to Heaven to meet his Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Connie and Uncle David there.
