On Jan. 17 the Tehachapi Lions were happy to welcome Mary Guynn as the newest member. District Vice Governor, Lion Ron Burdick, did the honors, giving a short summary of the history of the Tehachapi Lions Club as well as an overview of Lionism all over the world.  New Lion Mary pledged to observe the Lion Code of Ethics and to be an active participant in the activities of the Club;  and her sponsor, Lion Doris Mann, promised to help and support her and help her towards her Proud Lion award.  Over two weekends preceding Christmas, Tehachapi shoppers were bound to come across Lions ringing the bells for the Salvation Army. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we were able to add over $1,220 to their treasury. There have been 200 pairs of glasses, 24 sets of lenses, three sets of hearing aids and four cell phones turned in to the district this month.
