Golden  Hills Elementary School students have been issued a hot challenge from Principal Pat Thomas for the Read Across America Celebration on March 2nd.   Read Across America is an annual tradition throughout the United States, honoring that icon of children’s literature, Dr. Seuss (or Theodor Seuss Geisel), whose birthday is March 2nd. If he were still alive, Dr. Seuss would be 104 years old this year. His crazy characters and poetic prose have delighted children throughout the world since 1937, when he published his first book, “And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.”   At Golden HillsSchool in 2007, students read more than 2500 books, meeting the challenge and sending Miss Thomas (alias Clifford the Big Red Dog) to the doghouse for the day. Each student had to read at least one book in order to meet the challenge, but surprisingly enough, most students read 3 or more books during the 2-week period prior to March 2nd.  At the end...
