Doris Elsie Rozar went to be with her Lord on February 2, 2008. She was born in Los Angeles, and grew up in the then rural area of Arcadia, graduating from Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High.
Doris had an adventurous spirit, quick wit, and her mother's laugh. She raised four children and enjoyed a variety of jobs, including Western Regional Manager of Training, for Northern Telecom; she owned a deli, and also enjoyed a great career in the chemistry department at Cal Poly, Pomona.
She was a great cook, and loved gardening. A lifelong Christian, she began to sing solos in church at age 12. Her many accomplishments included quilting and all needle arts, playing piano, canning her own fruit, genealogy, raising abalone, laying floors, and world traveling. In Bakersfield, she volunteered as a CASA, working as an advocate for children in the foster care system.
