Deep and talented. The varsity and junior varsity tennis programs this season are certainly that. Tehachapi’s varsity program, spearheaded by a host of senior leadership, made quick work of visiting North-Bakersfield last Tuesday in an opening season victory. Tyler Thoms won 8-0, followed by David Croy 8-0, Ryan Grisso 8-0, and Taylor Buttcane 8-6 in singles to lead the Mountain Tennis victory. Because the Warriors were playing the first match of the season, the Tehachapi squad elected to rotate players in at doubles after the impressive singles games. “We did not keep score in doubles but they were competitive games,” said head coach John Bailey. “We mixed in players from both teams to keep the matches competitive.
