Hard work and sacrifice has paid off for two Tehachapi High School administrators with the recent announcement that Ed Cheek and Bev Thompson have been named the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) administrator of the year in two competitive categories (secondary co-administrator and valuing diversity). Each year, California school leaders are hand-selected throughout a highly-competitive process throughout the state for regional recognition, and Ed Cheek and Bev Thompson have been tapped as two of the area’s best in Kings, Tulare, Kern, and Inyo/Mono county region. “It’s nice to get the award but really it’s a reflection of what we are all doing here at THS,” said THS vice-principal Ed Cheek. “This award is as much the school’s as it is mine and it’s a great thing that our region is recognizing all the good things that are happening here.” By winning the award, Cheek and Thompson have shown that they...
