Earlier in the season, Tehachapi had a forgettable pre-season game when Palmdale-Highland handed the Lady Warriors an 11-3 loss on the road. Mountain Softball had their rematch at home last Wednesday against the same Bulldog squad, and the results showed a more polished and improved performance in a decisive 5-0 victory. Tehachapi (6-5) turned the tables on their Palmdale guests, recording an impressive defensive performance and solid hitting in the big win, recording four runs in the second inning and an insurance score in the third. On the mound, Kelsey Kapitzke pitched a seven-inning gem, allowing only one hit and recording nine strikeouts for the Lady Warriors. Michelle Baxter recorded two doubles, an RBI and a run while Erin Golackson, Maria Berryman, Brittany St. John and Chrissy Whitman all rounded the plates for Tehachapi in the strong offensive effort.
