The Warriors may have had a rough start, but the important wins have still been recorded, defeating Shafter 10-5 last Friday to notch their second overall and league victory on the season. Spearheaded by a stellar week by Johnny Holguin, who had 12 strikeouts on the week in eight innings pitched, Tehachapi played one of their best defensive games of the year in a 1-0 loss to Taft last Tuesday and staved off the hot bats of the Generals in the late week victory. “It feels good to get the win, we are continuing to get better,” said head coach Dennis Costa. “We’re a much different team that started this season.” Tehachapi pulled away from Shafter with a seven run fourth inning, sending 12 batters to the plate in the mid game marathon.
