After dropping a 3-1 decision to Wasco to start the week, the Lady Warriors got back to their winning ways by avenging an earlier league loss to Taft with a 10-3 win at home last Friday. Kelsey Kapitzke, Tarah Steinbach, Erin Golackson, Ashley Carter, and Bre Farinas each had two hits in the game, while Kearstyn Gilbert led the team with two RBIs. Kapitzke got the nod in the circle, striking out eight and allowing only two hits and one earned run in a complete game showing. The Lady Warriors (11-7; 4-2 SSL) will take on Bakersfield Christian (home – Tuesday) and Arvin (road – Thursday) this week. Both games will start at 4 p.m. Junior Varsity The Lady Braves remain perfect in SSL play with a 6-0 record after defeating Wasco 13-8 and Taft 10-5 this past week.
