The annual Tehachapi High School Career Fair started early Thursday morning and lasted until the end of the school day. Students through all grade levels were able to learn about the career paths available to them. Students had the opportunity to speak to representatives from seven colleges throughout the state and find out what it takes to get into them. California State University at Bakersfield (CSUB) was represented and seems to specialize in nourishment and Liberal Studies. CSUB’s representative stated that this year there have been more students than expected that were interested in attending. “We are mostly here just for recruitment,” said the CSUB representative. “We usually have a lot of kids coming down here from Tehachapi, so it’s a good place to come” With the average tuition cost of nearly $12,000 per year, the convenience of the nearby campus makes it an affordable local option for many students.
