With more than 75 participants taking the Coy Burnett track field in early March, Jacobsen Middle School wrapped up their season qualifier early last month for the upcoming Desert Area Junior Olympics Track Meet in Ridgecrest. In preparation for the Ridgecrest meet, Tehachapi held a duel with Joshua Middle School, capturing some new school records by various student athletes. “We practiced through freezing weather, wind, rain, and snow but the kids did well,” said head coach Amy Lang. “Some our new athletes should be very exciting to watch, they are extremely fast.
