Karen J. Bassler April 22, 1953 – March 21, 2006 Karen Bassler was born in Las Cruces, N.M., on April 22, 1953 and passed away on March 21. Karen married Melvin Bassler on March 7, 1970. They have raised two wonderful children. Karen is survived by her husband of 36 years, Melvin; brother, Gary Hunter of Tehachapi; daughters, Sheri Taylor and her husband J.D.; and Donya Lunz and her husband Shawn, all of Tehachapi; and grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley Taylor; and Sam and Melanie Lunz. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 24, at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Daniel Alsop officiated at the service. Interment followed at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Eastside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
