About brendaseehusen

Hey there!  I used to be what one would call a "local" way back in 1988, at which time my husband and I moved to Florida.  We miss good ole Tehachapi sooooo much - it has been too long since I've lived there and I've noticed soooooo many changes that I hardly recognize the place.  I  have lived in Tehachapi on again off again since 1958 (so now you know my age!!!) and my father and his side of the family - the Colliers - have been residents since grandpa moved the family there from Oklahoma/Moussori  in the 40's I believe.  My husband and I met there in Tehachap in 1983 and fell in love immediately.  Unfortunately, he lived in Orange County and I had a great job that I loved very much at the Tehachapi Hospital.  Well, as you can imagine, we soon decided to move in together so he quit his job of 20 years with a large concrete company in So. Cal. to work for Bob Small atTehachapi Ready Mix, and I started a new position at the Tehachapi News way back when Bill and Betty Meade owned it in 1986.  I loved it.  We had a beautiful house on Fir St. with 4 children between us (mine being the youngest, then his 3 - 2 boys and 1 girl).  We had a wonderful family and a wonderful life, however, it didn't last forever, which brings us to now.  We had to move to Florida where my parents live due to my fathers health (Frank Collier) and stayed for over 15 years.  It all worked out well, his health got better and we bought a home after I finally finished college with a degree in radiology.  I worked at the local trauma center there in Panama City Beach, Florida doing x-ray, CT and MRI.  But Tehachapi has always been in my heart and on my mind and we wanted to come back home .... finally we moved to 29 Palms in 2002 due to my step son, John (my husbandTerry's oldest) who is a marine and got deployed to Iraq, so we helped out with the kids and his wife (3 beautiful children from ages 4 to 10 at that time).  I worked at the local hospital there (Hi-Desert) but was very unhappy due to my health.  I've had  3 surgeries on my neck and a very bad back, so eventually I had to quit work and became disabled in 2004...it's no fun, believe me.  I'd rather be working and healthy.  Anyway, we eventually moved to Barstow where the Seehusen family (my hubby's family) owns aproximately 100 acres out here not far from Fort Irwin Army Base.  This is a bit closer to Tehachapi, and we are saving to move back home to my beloved little town in the mountains.  So there you have it.  If you know me, or my family, please get in touch with me.  My cousin Allen Collier and his wife Carla still live there, however, most of my other relatives have either moved away, or died, unfortunately.  I still have some friends there and hope you/they will find this and contact .   PLEASE!!!!!  I awaite your responses!!  Till then, have a great and wounderful life full of blessings!
