About poetrandy
I'm Randy Roberts, also known as (a.k.a.) poetrandy.
I live in the mountains of So. California, USA, western hemisphere, the world, the universe and hopefully in god's place -- but, maybe not at his right hand!
I'm 63 or so years old in body -- maybe not in soul or spirit! I'm married (for a second time) -- this time for over 25 yrs. I've got one daughter, a 1st grade school teacher (with 20 or so kids every day) -- but, no children of her own!
My wife has two kids and three grandchildren -- all very loving and lovable -- so they are totally my own step grandchildren!
I started into poetry about 8th grade or so -- mostly love poems. In college, I settled down to only a few girls and wrote some poems to them.
Since then, I've written a few poems & lost a few -- so my latest poetry history starts from 1979 -- that doesn't make me real poet, though!
I'm an x-electronic engineer now retired and turned part time poet. . .
I used to edit and publish a small high tech journal for about 4 years -- then put it up on the web for 4 more years -- then sold it after having a little heart attack and triple bypass, then a pacemaker. . . I feel just fine now and try my best to keep up with exercise, diet, go kayaking, walking, RV camping and out of town trips! I love folk music, Pete Seegar, Janis Joplan, Kate Wolf, LOTR, SCI-FI, weird stuff, friends and family!!!
I've read my poetry in Rancho Mirage, CA, on a Royal Carribean Mexico cruise, in Bakersfield, CA and at Mama Hillibeans, in Tehachapi, CA. My poetry has been featured several times on the WEB at gather.com and
I recently had a poem published by The Bear Valley Springs "Cub."
