Stallion Springs Community Carnival

Stallion Springs Community Church will be having a community Carnival on Saturday, August 16 from 10:00 am to 5 pm. The festivities being held in the church parking lot will include numerous activities, food and fun for the whole family.
Everyone is invited to come and have a great time. Enjoy the dunk tank, bounce house, silent auction, bounce slide, cake walk, great food, and games with prizes!
All proceeds will benefit the children of Stallion Springs and the surrounding communities by helping our children's ministries and our youth based community outreach programs. This event will replace our Vacation Bible School for this summer.

Horvath and Ringdahl Wedding Vows

Nancy Horvath and Phyllis Sciacca Ringdahl exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, June 28 at the Channel Islands waterfront home of Kristine Kosak and Perry Jacobson, their former Bear Valley neighbors. The vows were witnessed by more than 35 friends and coworkers, with over half from Tehachapi. The ceremony, conducted by Reverend Dick Burdine of Tehachapi, was followed by a seated dinner on the deck. Nancy and Phyllis have been together for 27 years and were longtime residents of Tehachapi until moving to Austin Texas last fall.

Monica Stahl in concert

Monica (Medina) Stahl is going places and Tehachapi is her first stop.
Monica is scheduled to record her debut album in Nashville, TN this June, but we get to hear her first! Her live Tehachapi concert will be held at Christian Life Assembly Church on June 8th at 6:00 PM.
Monica graduated from Tehachapi High School in 1995 where she was a trumpet player for the school band. For six years after graduation she was part of the music/missions team for the celebrant Singers. She has ministered throughout the United States and in over thirty-five countries. Monica met her husband, Brent, on the road; together they led a team of Celebrant Singers for two years.
Brent and Monica have settled in Visalia, CA and now lead a team of 3 children: Solomon age 6, Elijah age 3, and Grace age 1. Music is a family affair; Brent will perform at the concert, and Solomon will sing a song he wrote when he was 5 years old.
Monica plays trumpet, drums, piano, and is a singer/songwriter. With no formal musical training, Monica is 100% God taught and led. So, when she says, “He's put a message in my heart and set it to music” you know it's an understatement. Her diverse musical influences include: Matthew Ward, Keith Green, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Tuck and Pattie, Sarah Groves and Rita Springer.
Her debut album, entitled “Here in this Place,” is a compilation of songs Monica has written during the past year. She says that God poured these songs into her heart like a personal musical journal of healing, encouragement and truth. Her fresh melodies, candid lyrics, and distinctive vocals have been said to melt chocolate. For the most part, these are not traditional worship songs, though they definitely lift eyes of adoration and hearts of worship to Him. As Monica's music absorbed, His adoration for us resonates and we melt - like chocolate!

Seventh-day Adventist Church breaks ground

The Tehachapi Seventh-day Adventist Church held the groundbreaking for their new Church Sanctuary on Friday, May 9. The church is located at 20335 Woodford-Tehachapi Road.

Stallion Spring Community Church breaks ground

The Stallion Springs Community Church would like to announce that they broke ground for the new addition on Sunday, May 4. The new building will have a fellowship area, a kitchen, class rooms and offices. Everyone is welcome to come and visit our church and to watch us grow.

Bear Valley Springs resident Paul Arthur Brady, 48, passed away in Bakersfield on Tuesday, April 29. A full obituary will appear in next week's paper.

National Day of Prayer Evening Service

The community is invited to attend the evening service for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 1at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tehachapi. The Boy Scouts will be leading the Pledge of Allegiance, the Christian Pledge and singing the National Anthem.

Don Clark, formerly a TV newscaster and past Executive Director of Rescue Mission in Bakersfield, will be speaking. Joyce Markman and Anna Marie Swanson will be giving their testimonies. Choral music will be provided by the Bear Valley Church choir with Lynn Henning closing the service by singing the Lord’s Prayer.

Charity Brunch at Tehachapi Valley United Methodist Church

Tehachapi Valley United Methodist Church is hosting a fund raising brunch on Saturday, May 3. Proceeds from the brunch will go to raise money for the Children's Fund for Christian Missions and special needs children in Tonga.

Chef Dan Diamond will be preparing many mouth watering favorites for all comers.
Doors of the church will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and everyone is welcome. While there is no charge for breakfast, donations to help mission charities will be gratefully accepted.

Easter Day Celebration for Kids

Kids, kindergarten through sixth grade, are invited to a special Easter Day Celebration at First Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. to noon with snacks served.

We will be celebrating that “Jesus Is Alive!” Hear the true Easter Story with “Resurrection Eggs.” The Children’s Choir will sing “The Easter Song” and “Clap and Shout” on stage during Worship in the church between 10:45. Then, we’ll have fun with an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Kids will make an Easter necklace to take home as a reminder of how much God loves them. Come and join us! We look forward to sharing an exciting and fun filled Easter Sunday with you!

Easter Musical at First Baptist Church

The First Baptist Church will be presenting a unique musical experience called, "I Will Sing of My Redeemer" on Sunday evening, March 16 at 6 p.m. If you love hymns, you will not want to miss this program. Some of the great hymns that tell the story of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection will be presented along with short monologues that tie in with the music. This is your opportunity to enjoy a night filled with hymn singing and worship of our Lord’s sacrifice upon the cross, and the glory of His resurrection. Easter at First Baptist Church

Easter is a great time of celebration! Please join us at the First Baptist Church in Tehachapi as we begin a new tradition with our first Good Friday Service on March 21 at 6 p.m. We'll begin our celebration of Easter with music, some testimonies, a sermon and the Lord's Supper.

On Easter Sunday, March 23, we will begin our worship with Sunday School and Bible Study classes for children and adults at 9:30 a.m. Our Worship Service will begin at 10:45 a.m. Our faith is based on the reality that Jesus rose from the grave over that first Easter Morning to defeat the worst enemy that could oppose us. DEATH!! With that enemy defeated, with His sacrificial blood shed and the assurance of our sins forgiven, we can face the future with a hope that is eternal. Nothing, Paul says, can separate us from His love! I don't know about you, but I know for me, that is a wonderful bit of knowledge.

Two Easter Sunday Services

Great singing, enthusiastic participation from children and youth, and encouraging words from the Scriptures always make for a time of celebration. Mountain Bible Church will host two Easter morning services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. This year’s theme is about the single most important event in human history, “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead.”

Our children will present a ‘Reader’s Theater’ entitled: “He’s Alive” showing Jesus’ resurrection which guaranteed that all sinners can be rescued from Satan’s kingdom of suffering and darkness and brought into Christ’s Kingdom of forgiveness and light.

Soloist Sally Periman will be singing two all-time Easter favorites: “The Holy City” and “My Redeemer Lives.” Our youth group will present a drama based on Mary meeting Jesus at the tomb on that first Easter Sunday. Our sermon will show that because of Christ’s Resurrection every person can have a second chance to start their life anew.
