My dad to me is the Father of the Year 2006 and every year since the day I was born. Wow, there is so much I want to say to prove my dad deserves this more then anyone, I hope I can get it all out :)

My father, Jay Schwartz, is 47 years old and he has been a truck driver for the past 28 years. In this time he has been the most amazing person and role model to four wonderful children. My mom and dad have four kids, me at 24, my sister at 22 and my two brothers at 20 and 19. He has been a devoted husband to my mother for 25 years.

Being a truck driver my dad was only able to come home on the weekends. However, when my dad came home every weekend he did not rest. Instead he made our childhood one to remember forever. He would take us four kids camping, hiking, fishing to Brite Lake and riding our bikes.

My dad now at 47 has really bad arthritis in his hands from driving trucks for 28 years. Even though my dad is in pain he still came over last weekend to help install a sprinkler system in my back yard, which is back-breaking work. Yet he did not stop for eight hours on the only days he has off to relax and he worked hard.

My dad does this every weekend when he comes home. My mom will make a list of things for him to fix around the house over the weekend and when he comes home he drops his bags and goes straight to work. If it’s showing one of the horses, painting the kitchen, or taking the stitches out of the dog, my dad will do it without hesitation.

This year my dad has proved how awesome he really is. I am 23 and I am getting married on June 24 of this year. He gave me his tax return to help pay for my wedding. He has been helping me so much with the wedding and I wish there was a way to repay him for all that he has done for me.

He truly is the greatest dad in the world and I wish I could hand him the world on a silver platter. He is awesome, loving, caring, selfless and devoted to God and his family. I love him so much and he truly is Father of the year to me and my family.
Please consider my father Jay Schwartz for Tehachapi's Father of the Year :)

— Elisha Schwartz

I wanna nominate my dad because hes my hero, my idol, someone I have looked up to since i was a baby. He’s always been there for me and my family in good times and bad. My dad is honest, truthful and just a well rounded person.

When I go out to the supermarket and they tell me, “Hey your Rodolfo’s daughter.”

I say, “Yeah,” with such great honor then they tell your dad is such a great man and i let him and only him work on my cars. I member since i was little i always wanted to be just like him a mechanic, when i was like 1 i took my brand new bike apart just cause i saw my dad take a motor apart but of course i put it back together all by myself he was so proud of me. my papi (daddy) has 4 girls and 1 boy. He was always happy with his 4 little girls but the day my mom had his first boy his life was just complete he was so happy when they named him after him he just wanted to show him off to world but unfortanelty could as the baby of the family my little brother was born premature and had to stay in the hospital since he had breathing problems but my dad never had a frown knowing he would have his baby boy in his arms soon.

My dad even though he works alot he gets home exhausted still gets up half awake and goes meets with our teacher goes to school meetings he really wants to get a good education and have a good life. i bug so much bout taking me driving and even hes tired he takes me he doesnt want me to be a bad driver or to indanger anyones life. The real reason i want to nominate my dad is because he deserves it hes fed up with me all my life and he doesnt complain i really want him to win this so i can show him how grateful i am to have him as my dad and how much i love him.

— Frances
