With the new growth in the Tehachapi area, the need for the opening of a new elementary school is only a matter of time. In order to avoid changing school boundaries, a superintendent’s committee has been formed to explore the possibility of a magnet school at the facility on the corner of Tehachapi Boulevard and Snyder. It would be a kindergarten through fifth grade school.
A magnet school is a public school which is designed to draw students by way of an innovative curriculum that meets existing educational standards. The committee seeks public input as to the desired content of the innovative curriculum.
The goal is to obtain feedback using a survey to discover what programs the Tehachapi Unified School District can best offer the community.
Look for more information as the committee continues to convene to discuss this plan.
