The Kern County Sheriff's Department is offering a reward for information leading to the apprehension of the person(s) responsible for extensive tagging on the weekend of April 8 and 9 within the city of Tehachapi.

Senior Deputy Lee Walter said the graffiti was examined by deputies, including members of the gang suppression unit.

“Some of the graffiti have gang characteristics,” Walter said. “Investigation is continuing in an effort to identify everyone involved.”

The amount of reward money that will be given by the department depends on the quality of the information.

Gang graffiti seems to be getting more common in our area. This is another reason we need to elect Phil Wyman as our Assemblyman. He is the only candidate who is ready and able to take a real stand against these gangs.
