The Lady Braves downed two more South Sequoia League foes last week, defeating Golden Valley 14-4 and blanking Arvin 15-0. Both contests were won in a five-inning mercy rule to help Tehachapi maintain a first place tie with Taft.
Tehachapi (12-4; 6-2 SSL) had little trouble with Golden Valley last Tuesday, led by Randa Viets’ three for three plate performance with two RBIs, and Krissy Whitman's two for three batting with two RBIs. Other standout performances included Heather Andrade, Chelsea Maduena, Ashley Biscailuz, Kayla Dahl and Brittany St. John, who all scored two runs apiece.
Chelsea Maduena pitched all five innings in the contest, allowing only seven hits and three walks while striking out five Bulldog batters.
Against Arvin, Krissy Whitman was able to get on base five times, logging two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Ashley Biscailuz was able to reach on base on four occasions with three runs scored. Also getting action in the game was Katie Jameson, who went two for three with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Chelsea Maduena, Kayla Dahl and Krissy Whitman, who each recorded a double.
The Braves will play their final two games of the year this week, taking on Shafter at home on Tuesday and traveling to Wasco on Thursday. Both games will throw out the first pitch at 4 p.m.
