The Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi would like to thank all of the people who attended the 20th Annual Day of Prayer Breakfast, held May 4 at St. Malachy’s McMullen Hall in Tehachapi. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our guest speaker Dr. Chuck Wall for his very inspirational talk. Also, a big thank you to our participating pastors, Father Joel Davadilla, Dr. Marvin Slifer, Eric Mock and Pastor Ron Barker. A very special thank you to Country Oaks Baptist Worship Team who provided our special music.

We would also like to thank our dignitaries in attendance, supervisor Don Maben and staff member, Marybeth Garrison, Mayor Ed Grimes with his gracious welcome, city manager Jason Caudle, Kern County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Joe Giuffre, City Fire Chief Tim McLaughlin, CCI Warden Joe Sullivan, TUSD Superintendent Dr. Marian Stephens and Senator Roy Ashburn’s representative Rex Moen.

The wonderful day would not have been possible without assistance from Johnson Printing, who donated the printing of the tickets, the Knights of Columbus who prepared a great breakfast, St. Malachy Church who donated the use of their McMullen Hall and the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District, who printed the program.

A personal thank you to all of my fellow Kiwanians who assisted with the prayer breakfast this year, especially Eve Geisler for her beautiful accompaniment on the piano and our president, Joeann King.
