Hello again from the Golden Hills Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you have been following our monthly inserts you should be almost half way to having your 72-hour kit put together. Hopefully it has been a fun experience for you and your family.
Why prepare a kit? Simple: it makes sense. Remember the parable of the 10 virgins and the bridegroom. Five prepared their lamps with oil and five did not. When the bridegroom came, the five who were prepared went with him, the others were left behind.
Matthew 25:13 warns us to “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”
Let’s not allow this happen in our community. Tehachapi can easily prepare itself. Just look for this article each month to help you put together a kit that will sustain you and your family for three days, until reasonable aid can be expected.
If you have missed prior articles, visit the
Tehachapi News website at www.tehachapinews.com and look in the archives.
