Adventure camp
This summer TVRPD will be hosting a 10-week day camp full of adventure and fun. The children will be making crafts such as clay whistles, sand painting, paper mache, painted rocks and clay bugs, jewelry projects, paper butterflies and paper crafts. in addition, the children will go to the pool three days a week, play games and, with an additional cost, have the option of attending field trips on Fridays.
Each week there is a different theme, including Jurassic Park week, Disney week, Harry Potter week, Pirates of the Caribbean week, under the sea week and medieval times week. There are also trips to the bowling alley, roller and ice skating and miniature golf.
Time: available from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting June 12
Ages: 5 to 13
Cost: $100 per week
Place: Scout Hall at City Park, located at 311 E. D St.
Mobile recreationFour days a week, children ages 6 to 13 will be able to attend TVRPD’s mobile recreation program that will offer crafts, games, sports and other activities free of charge. TVRPD staff members will introduce new and innovative activities to keep the summer fun and your child active. Parents must supply a sack lunch.
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting June 12, Mondays through Thursdays
Water revive and rejuvenateA relaxing, low-impact class that is perfect for those suffering from arthritis, joint-stiffness and pre- or post-surgery is offered. Participants will enjoy the therapeutic qualities of the water that will help improve mobility. Muscle endurance, strength and density will also be noticeability increased. Flexibility, balance, coordination, agility and reaction time will improve. Experience an increase in over-all fitness as well as an increased sense of well-being.

Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:35 to 12:35 p.m.

Summer tennis lessons
Jim True has been coaching tennis locally for years. This class is a combination of technique, rules, doubles positioning and strategy. Participants who have never played and those who can rally will work towards consistency and playing a game of doubles. Tennis shoes and racquets are required. Classes will take place on June 9 and 10 the first week and then on Wednesdays and Thursdays through June 29.

Introduction to water colorTry this class — no experience needed. Let our instructor introduce you to the wonderful world of watercolor painting. Use simple techniques to paint easy watercolor paintings you will be proud to hang in your home. The instructor will provide step-by-step instruction, demonstration and personal assistance while you learn this popular art form. A $15 cash material fee due first class includes all watercolor supplies needed except for brushes.

Summer skate park eventsEvery Thursday at the skate park, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. TVRPD will be hosting an evening skate which will also include DJs and local bands. Each week TVRPD will be featuring a different band or DJ.
