It hurts to see our marines in shackles like hardcore criminals. What happened to “Innocent until proven guilty?” Sure, we want to keep our standards high and don't want to degrade ourselves to the level of those terrorists that our brave men and women fight in Iraq. But how can we not give them the favor of the doubt?

They, above all, deserve our respect and the media treat them as guilty before any trial or courts-marshal was held. How can we stand by and watch this happen, when their commander in chief is turning his back on them, when congressmen who have honorably served themselves in the Marine Corps condemn those soldiers without even giving them a chance to defend themselves.

If I would be a terrorist in Iraq this is exactly what I would do: I would snatch american uniforms and kill some civilians. This may have happened.

Does nobody read the reports from the two gulf wars. Wasn't it Saddam who used civilians as human shields?

If those guys really "snapped" and shot innocent civilians then justice will prevail. But they have to get the same rights and have to be assumed innocent until proven guilty.

It looks to me as if our president is ready to put them on the chopping block just to apease the government over there and the liberal media over here.

It all sounds and looks like a giant witch hunt coming out of the mouths of the same journalists that promote gay marriage and complain and sue about the treatment of the underprivileged.

Our soldiers deserve definitely more respect than murderers and rapists. Those men didn't run away when the bullets were flying so where is the need of treating them like this?

They stand and fight for the freedom that we all enjoy against an enemy that is coward enough to hide behind women and children and airs gruesome pictures where heavily armed men cut the throats of unarmed civilians. Where are our media there?

But dare we flush their books down a toilet or mistreat those throat cutters?

As I mentioned initially, we want to keep our high standards but we also owe respect and fairness to our troops.

God bless America and God bless our troops.
