God has made many wonderful promises to us. He has promised to guide us, to comfort us, and to always listen to us when we pray.
God promised that He would never leave us or forsake us, and God has also promised to never give us more than we can bear. We praise God that He keeps all of His promises.
One promise that God made has not yet been fulfilled. He promised that our Savior would return to earth at the end of the world and take all believers to heaven.
Some people wonder why, after 2,000 years, our Lord has still not returned.
Saint Peter wrote that God is being patient because He does not want anyone to be eternally separated from Him.
Every day that God delays His second coming is another day that more people can come to saving faith. God continues to give us believers more time to witness our faith and encourage more people to trust in Jesus as their Savior.
We want to tell people about the greatest promise ever made. It was when God promised to send His own Son into the world to take the punishments for our sins.
God kept that promise by sending Jesus to become a true human being and to live without sin. Then, when Jesus died on the cross, He paid for our sins and won the victory over death.
Because God keeps all of His promises we know that He will also keep His promise to take us believers to heaven. But, as long as God chooses to give people more time to come to faith, we will be sharing His love and serving in Him.
May God give us complete trust in His promises so we can joyfully serve Him in everything we do.
