Alfred Lee Cummings, 83, passed away in Tehachapi on June 15. Alfred was born Jan. 25, 1923 in Van Horn, Texas to Charles and Mary Cummings. He served in the United States Armed forces in the Army during World War II.
In his later years, Alfred worked as an operating engineer in road construction for 35 years. Alfred was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners and the VFW. He helped the VFW place flags at local businesses and serve with the honor guard at funerals. Alfred loved his community but his main focus in life was his family.
Alfred is survived by his daughters, Marian Watson of Tehachapi and Martha Richardson of Fresno; grandchildren, Angela Evans of Fresno, Alan McGee of Tehachapi and Elizabeth Watson of Visalia; great-grandchildren, Jasminne McGee of Tehachapi and Jacob Evans of Fresno.
Funeral services were held on June 19 at the Bear Valley Community Church with Dr. Jeff Kaplan officiating. Interment services were held on June 20 at the Belmont Memorial Park, Fresno. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
