Many vacation Bible schools offered locally

Are you looking for some action-packed fun this summer? Then you’ll want to try out one or more of these exciting vacation Bible schools offered this summer in Tehachapi. You’ll hear stories about Jesus, make cool crafts, learn catchy tunes, play super-fun games and makes lots of new friends. Each day offers a new Bible story to explore through loads of fun activities. You can get more information and register with any of the churches listed below. There is no cost, although some churches may take donations for mission projects included in their programs.

• “Fiesta” at the Church of the Nazarene, located at 19016 Highline Road, will be held from June 16 to July 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.

• “Fiesta” at the Christian Life Assembly, located at 920 Valley Blvd., will be held from June 25 to 30 from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Family night will be on June 30 with a fiesta dinner and performance by the children.

• “Mission Possible,” a spy-themed vacation Bible school, at the Country Oaks Baptist Church, located at 20915 Schout Road, will be held from July 17 to 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.

• “Arctic Expedition” at the First Baptist Church, located at 1049 S. Curry St., will be held from June 19 to 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a sack lunch from home is required. A closing reception on June 23 will include a barbecue and a program.

• “Son-Treasure Island” at the Bear Valley Springs Community Church, located at 26180 Plateau Way, will be held from July 24 to 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration is offered now through July 9 in order to receive a vacation Bible school tee-shirt.

• “Kool Times” at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 329 S. Mill St., will be held from July 31 to Aug. 4 from 9:30 to noon for children as young as three and up to children in the sixth grade. A family program will be held on Aug. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

• “Son-Treasure Island” at the Mountain Bible Church, located at 630 Maple St., will be held from July 17 to 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.

• “Gospel Express: at the Tehachapi Valley United Methodist Church will be held from July 17 to 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and includes a light meal. Pre-registration is open now through July 10. A celebration service will be held on July 23.
