On Saturday, April 29, Master Ivan Jadric and his Tehachapi Martial Arts students attended the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame banquet held in Los Angeles. Jadric and fellow black belts were recognized and commemorated for their success and dedication to martial arts.
The evening’s black-tie event began as hundreds of invited guests, alongside renowned black belts and masters such as Dr. Jim Thomas and Bennie “The Jet” Urquidez, arrived. The opening ceremonies were highlighted with demonstrations and martial arts presentations. Passion, respect and love for martial arts were shared by everyone as acceptance speeches were heard throughout the room.
The Tehachapi Martial Arts Center was honored to receive five black belt inductions: Maria Jadric, Jeff Berchtold, Hector Uribe and Antonia Polito, who were all recognized for their outstanding teaching skills and dedication to the sport and to their schools. “Our black belts work really hard and put a lot of work and heart into teaching,” said Jadric, “Receiving such award to truly an honor.”
Jadric received the most prestigious and honorable award ever given at the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame banquet. Thomas praised Jadric for his 45 years of dedication to the world of martial arts and for all of his accomplishments. He then awarded Jadric with the first ever Platinum Achievement Award.
Jadric carries a fifth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a fifth-degree in Hapkido, a first-degree in Kodokan Judo, as well as mastering in Tai Chi. Jadric’s Tehachapi Martial Arts school has been a success for more than 15 years now.
Tehachapi Martial Arts Center also offers scholarships for under-privileged children, upon qualification, in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Kung Fu and Tai Chi. For more information, visit the Tehachapi Martial Arts Center at 20418 Brian Way or call 823-0621.
