Along with the Tehachapi Red Devils (13-2) success in minor league softball action, the Tehachapi majors also had team representation of their own to advance to inter-city competition, with both the Athletics (9-3) and the Lady Warriors (10-2) representing their division in the 2006 City Series.
The Athletics advanced to the City Series championship game against the Quartz Hill Falcons, but lost the contest 8-2 at Quartz Hill.
In the game, Carley Cass and AJ Snider scored Tehachapi's two runs in the top of the fourth inning.
The Athletics advanced to the finals by defeating Kern Valley 11-3 in four innings in the Northern Tournament and outscoring the Lady Warriors 14-11 in the Northern Tournament championship game, marking the second year in a row that the two teams met in the championship.
In the Northern championship game, Hannah Fjeld reached base safely in all her at bats with two base hits and a run on error, scoring all three times.
Sarah Breene also had a double, base hit, two fielders choice and a walk, scoring once; Kristin Rush had two runs on errors, two walks and a base hit, scoring once; Taylor Cross had three fielders choice, one run on error and one base hit, scoring once; AJ Snider had two fielders choice, one run on error, one triple and a base hit, scoring twice.
