0 responses 0 comments Sharon Lozar is this year’s President’s Cup winner. This two-day tournament tallies the lowest total net score to determine winners. Sharon’s two-day net total was 137.
Other President’s Cup winners in the first flight were Dee Grason, first place; Diane Griffin, second place; Lani Sebastian, third place; and Lynette Spencer, fourth place.
President’s Cup winners in the second flight resulted in a play-off between Janet Devine and Gail Gewain with Janet coming out on top; Gail in second; and a tie between Gail Bogdanoff and Shirley Jones for third and fourth.
Third flight winners were Sandy Lander, first place; Livvy Caskey, second place; Pat Morrison, third place; Anita Gifford, fourth place.
The Vice President’s Cup is held the same days as the President’s Cup and is a two-day net total of players playing the front nine the first day and the back nine on the second day. This year’s winner was Marie Scammon with Genny Morgan, placing second and Jackie Vaughan coming in third.
The theme for the successful Oak Tree Country Club Golf Course Couples Tournament held on July 8 was “A Day at the Beach.” A great job was completed by the Couples Tournament committee of Sharon Collins, Kitty Bower, Diane Mooney and Nancy Crook.
A putting contest started the day out. Then the 32 couples enjoyed their partners’ better ball format. The couples winners in the first flight were Greg and Lee Kapka with first place. A four-way tie for second, third and fourth places led to a card-off with Duane and Tammy Gore, second place; Bill and Sharon Collins, third place; Rod and Kitty Bower, fourth place; and Gary and Janet Dormandy, fifth place.
The couples winners for the second flight resulted in a tie and card-off with Todd and Sandy Lander, first place; Ken and Pat Morrison, second place; Greg and Peggy Goodwin, third place; Jim INgersoll and Leane Brandolino, fourth place; and Mary and Diane Mooney, fifth place.
After regular play there was a seahorse race with Bill and Sharon Collins winning and Duane and Tammy Gore placing second.
